High-Performance Neutralizing and Retanning Agent for Premium Leather Production
Rockytan RPAK is an anionic retanning and neutralizing agent in powder form, specially developed for leather manufacturers seeking superior light fastness, brilliant dyeing properties, and controlled neutralization. Its unique buffering effect ensures gradual pH adjustment, resulting in improved color uniformity, enhanced heat resistance, and excellent leather performance.
Rockytan RPAK is particularly suitable for the production of aniline, nubuck, suede, and other high-quality leathers where rich colors, level dyeing, and long-lasting appearance are essential.
Key Features & Benefits:
Product Description:
Rockytan RPAK is an advanced anionic retanning material based on a balanced combination of organic and inorganic compounds. It combines powerful neutralizing properties with exceptional dyeing performance, making it an ideal solution for high-quality leather applications.
Its pronounced buffering action ensures controlled neutralization and prevents sudden pH fluctuations during processing. Even in the presence of strong alkaline agents, Rockytan RPAK helps maintain the leather pH within an optimal range, reducing the risk of over-neutralization and preserving the leather structure.
The product delivers excellent light fastness, color brilliance, and heat resistance, making it particularly valuable for articles exposed to sunlight and demanding environmental conditions.

Applications:
Rockytan RPAK is recommended for:
It is especially suitable for leather articles requiring:
Recommended Usage:
Rockytan RPAK can be used as a standalone neutralizing and retanning agent or in combination with conventional neutralizing chemicals.
For optimum performance, it is recommended to apply Rockytan RPAK between sodium formate and sodium bicarbonate at a dosage of approximately 0.1–0.7%, processing for 30–45 minutes.
The exact dosage depends on the leather type, processing conditions, and the desired final properties.
Buffering Effect and Neutralization Control
One of the key advantages of Rockytan RPAK is its excellent buffering capacity. During neutralization, the product helps maintain the leather pH within the range of 7.0–7.5, even when stronger alkalis such as caustic soda are used.
This controlled neutralization minimizes the risk of over-neutralization, improves chemical penetration, and contributes to more consistent leather quality.
Storage and Handling:
Store Rockytan RPAK in its original, tightly sealed packaging under suitable warehouse conditions.
