Rockenzyme ANWA – Acidic Bating Agent with Anti-Wrinkling Effect for Wet Blue and Pickled Leather

Advanced Acidic Enzyme Bating Agent for Wet Blue Re-Bating

Rockenzyme ANWA is a specialized acidic bating agent developed for wet blue re-bating and the treatment of pickled hides and skins. Produced by submerged fermentation of selected Bacillus species, this high-performance bacterial protease provides excellent anti-wrinkling properties while improving leather softness, grain smoothness, and dye uniformity.

Designed to work efficiently under acidic conditions, Rockenzyme ANWA delivers optimum performance within a pH range of 3.0–5.5 and at temperatures up to 55°C. It is particularly suitable for compact and irregular fiber structures, such as calf, goat, and sheep skins.

Why Choose Rockenzyme ANWA?

Modern tanneries require enzyme solutions that not only improve leather quality but also increase production efficiency and yield. Rockenzyme ANWA has been specifically formulated to enhance the structure and appearance of wet blue and pickled leather while reducing wrinkles and fold marks.

Key Benefits:

  • Specialized acidic bating agent for wet blue re-bating.
  • Effective anti-wrinkling treatment for hides and skins.
  • Removes fold marks from pickled skins and wet blue leather.
  • Improves grain smoothness and softness.
  • Enhances dye penetration and shade intensity.
  • Levels out natural variations in raw materials.
  • Promotes better fiber opening.
  • Increases tear strength.
  • Expands the usable leather area by 3–5%.
  • Suitable for calf, goat, sheep, and bovine hides.

What Is Rockenzyme ANWA?

Rockenzyme ANWA is an enzyme-based bating agent containing bacterial protease produced through controlled fermentation of Bacillus strains. Unlike conventional alkaline bates, it is designed to operate effectively in acidic processing conditions.

Its controlled enzymatic action selectively removes unwanted proteins and improves the leather structure without damaging collagen fibers.

How Rockenzyme ANWA Works?

During wet blue re-bating and pickled leather processing, Rockenzyme ANWA penetrates the leather structure and gently modifies compact fiber networks.

This enzymatic action provides:

  • Improved opening of fibers.
  • Better softness and handle.
  • Reduced wrinkles and fold marks.
  • More uniform grain appearance.
  • Enhanced dye uptake and color intensity.
  • Improved tear resistance.
  • Greater consistency between different raw materials.

The product is particularly effective on dense and irregular fiber structures, where additional opening is required.

Applications:

Rockenzyme ANWA is recommended for:

  • Wet blue re-bating.
  • Pickled sheep skins.
  • Wet blue goat skins.
  • Wet blue calf skins and hides.
  • Compact leather structures.
  • Premium leather production.
  • Leather softening and smoothing.
  • Dyeing optimization.

Recommended Operating Conditions

Rockenzyme ANWA performs most effectively under the following conditions:

  • Optimum pH range: 3.0–5.5
  • Maximum temperature: 55°C
  • Recommended dosage: 0.3–0.5% based on hide or skin weight

Because every tannery process is different, small-scale trials are recommended before industrial production to determine the optimum dosage and processing conditions.

Performance Advantages in Leather Processing

Leather treated with Rockenzyme ANWA exhibits:

  • Cleaner and smoother grain.
  • Improved softness and flexibility.
  • Reduced wrinkles and fold marks.
  • Better dye uniformity and shade intensity.
  • Increased tear strength.
  • Improved leather yield area.
  • More even fiber structure.

In many applications, Rockenzyme ANWA can increase the cuttable area by 3–5%, especially in traditionally loose belly sections.

Typical Applications:

Pickled Sheep Skins

Rockenzyme ANWA can be used after depickling to:

  • Remove wrinkles.
  • Improve softness.
  • Enhance grain quality.
  • Prepare the skins for subsequent tanning operations.

Wet Blue Goat Skins

For compact goat skins, Rockenzyme ANWA improves fiber opening and provides smoother and more uniform leather.

Wet Blue Calf Skins and Hides

Applied after rechroming and neutralization, Rockenzyme ANWA enhances softness, tear strength, and dye penetration.

Storage Conditions

Store Rockenzyme ANWA in tightly sealed containers between 5°C and 25°C.

For optimum performance:

  • Avoid direct sunlight.
  • Protect from moisture.
  • Prevent freezing.
  • Keep containers tightly closed after use.
